About Pastor Roy

Roy received his call to pastoral ministry as an undergrad at UCLA through a series of both tragic and wonderful events in his life that lead straight to God.  After college, he enrolled in Talbot Theological Seminary where he earned a Master of Divinity and a Master of Theology in Bible Exposition.  During Seminary, Roy served as College & Education pastor at The Garden Church in Chatsworth, CA.  In the summer of 2008, Roy and his wife moved out to Riverside to start The Promise Church with eight others.  He currently lives in Riverside with his wife, Jill, and three kids Joshua, Samantha, and Isaiah.  When he’s not preaching and teaching God’s Word; Roy loves reading, worshipping on his guitar, camping with his wife & kids; and spending time with his favorite community, The Promise.
